The idea was to transform the local council’s proposal to allow the public to visit artists’ studios as part of a neighborhood celebration, by highlighting the role that “publishing” represents for the exhibition space, all the while preserving the private nature of the workplace. The four-day exhibition presented the works of neighboring artists who make reference to their studios: Pascal Poulain’s false estimates detailing the process of a site-specific production; Bertrand Georges’ thousand firecrackers were to be exhibited in the form of ashes, but the global political climate of September 2001 prohibited them being let off.

Co-production: Mairie du Ier Arrondissement/The City of Lyon.
